Awardees were selected to recognize women making a difference in our community and in their professions.  L.E.N.A. (standing for Leadership, Education, Networking and Achievement) is Isle City 's "Woman of the Year" award named after BPW founder Lena Madisen Phillips.

This year marks the 78th year that the third full week of October is designated National Business Women's Week to honor the contributions of working women throughout the United States.  The Alameda City Council presented a proclamation declaring October 17 through 23 as National Business Women's Week in Alameda. The awards reception and ceremony was sponsored by Bank of Alameda.
