INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM 2007Since 1930, BPW International members have been educating and involving working women in issues related to the workplace and to their economic security as workers. Promoting its objectives without distinction to race, language or religion, PW International has the goal of promoting equality, full participation, and economic self-sufficiency for working women at all levels of society. BPW International is recognized by the United Nations as an International Observer with Consultative Status. BPW's International Week is held the third week in February. Local organizations from over 90 countries celebrate their unity and common purpose. BPW Isle City celebrated with Donna Milgram, IWITTS Executive Director and Isle City BPW member, presenting photos and discussion of the week she shared with BPW Argentina members in December 2005.
Speaker Donna, President Dorie and Project Africa Chair Maria Hargrove. Project Africa is BPW Isle City's ongoing shipment of medical, craft, and bedding donations to an AIDS clinic for women and children in Kadoma, Zimbabwe. African BPW members receive and distribute the donations. |
