Amanda Gerrie, Project Manager of The Alameda One-Stop Career Center located on the College of Alameda campus, was guest speaker for the July meeting of Isle City of Alameda Business and Professional Women (BPW/USA). Attending with her was Monique Perkins, Manater of Business Services.Ms. Gerrie previously ran an employment and training program at Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco. She has worked with CALWorks in San Francisco and at a One-Stop Center in Bay View/Hunters Point. One Stop is a job training and job placement program. It offers many free resources to first-time employment seekers, as well as those who have held professional and managerial positions.
The meeting on Saturday, July 26, will be in the Activities Room at the Waters Edge Lodge, 801 Island Drive, Alameda, CA 94502. Open to the public, the meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. for social/networking, with the program at 10 a.m., business from 11 a.m. to noon. Isle City President Marion Yeaw was presiding officer.
